Our church...Our Community
St Gabriel’s is at the heart of the community of Wood St and Waltham Forest. We Support local initiatives like FCENS, Eat or Heat and the Forest Night Shelter (Offering comfort each winter for those living on the streets).
As part of the Parish of Walthamstow, St Gabriel’s provides support to its sister church, St Marys’ and its involvement with Christians Against Poverty – an organisation that helps people take control of their finances.
At St Gabriel’s we are building links with the local authority to support vulnerable adults in our community.
Leeana Williams is the Local Area Coordinator for the Wood St Area. Drop in and see Leeana at St Gabriel’s on Mondays 10am to 2pm. You can also contact Leeana:

We work with adults over 18 years who may have a disability or mental health concern, along with older adults or carers who feel socially isolated. We work alongside them to help them both build resilience and achieve their vision of a good life.
It’s very rewarding and varied, as my work is designated only for the Wood street Ward. I am also able to inform our residents of what’s happening locally and to help community development where needs arise.
Leeana Williams is based at the church once a month
